Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Review requirements, analysis, architecture, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, debug, and support Java full-stack software and distributed systems.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and cloud modernization initiatives.
- Improve codebases, system quality, engineering processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct peer reviews, code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical investigations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and customer support to resolve technical issues.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work when needed.
- Evaluate new technologies and translate AI innovation into business and productivity improvements.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in Java full-stack development and 10 or more years developing software for large business environments.
- At least 12 years of Java Enterprise Edition experience and at least 10 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, Snowflake, software security tools and practices, shell scripting, or cloud, DevOps, and AI modernization is preferred or advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, decision-making, leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
