Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify scalability requirements related to user growth and increasing data volume.
- Design and roll out monitoring best practices in Datadog, including SLI, SLO, and SLA practices.
- Develop service and storage improvements using serverless technologies and optimize CI/CD for scalability, cost, and performance.
- Develop and maintain internal tooling for monitoring, the Developer Portal, and load testing.
- Create reusable and unified building blocks and educate development teams to improve scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Design and implement infrastructure autoscaling best practices.
- Run chaos engineering experiments to improve service resilience.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques related to scalability and performance engineering.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience with AWS and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform.
- Solid experience with monitoring, container orchestration, and microservice setups.
- Good working knowledge of Python, at least one additional general-purpose programming language, and build automation tools.
- Preferred additional programming experience includes Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, or Node.js.
- Strong understanding of scalable system design, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins is beneficial.
- A relevant degree or work experience in a role that typically requires a university degree.
- Full professional proficiency in English and the ability to communicate concisely in an international English-speaking environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional team environments.
