Base Salary
$153k - $191k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute design skills and technical expertise to a team combining design, strategy, and engineering.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements and design reviews through implementation.
- Help evolve a technology stack based on AWS back-end services.
- Build developer-focused automation that enables scalable, high-quality applications.
- Solve complex problems creatively while communicating progress and solutions clearly.
- Contribute to a collaborative environment focused on learning, teaching, and transparency.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies.
- Have experience with Kotlin or similar programming languages.
- Have familiarity with OLAP or columnar databases and the ability to optimize queries.
- Have a strong understanding of data modeling for analytical use cases.
- Be interested in running complex analytics quickly over large-scale data.
- Have experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline.
- Be willing to learn new technologies while developing expertise in a business domain.
- Understand the value of automated testing at all levels.
- Be able to balance short-term deliverables with long-term perspective.
- Demonstrate complex problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Bonus: buy-side technology experience, Claude Code or Cursor experience, ETL pipelines into OLAP systems, and familiarity with TWR, Brinson Attribution, and profit-and-loss concepts.
Benefits
- Typical starting base salary range is $153,000-$191,000; select locations including the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area have an alternate range of $168,000-$210,000.
