Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies.
- Expand BigQuery’s capabilities, attract new customers, and support next-generation AI workloads.
- Collaborate with BigQuery teams across data and control planes and with foundational database teams.
- Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, query optimization, compute pushdowns, security, and large-scale data integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Two years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or one year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: expertise in data processing, distributed systems, or database internals.
- Preferred: experience with BigQuery, query engines, or other data warehousing technologies.
