Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own scalable production backend systems, services, pipelines, and infrastructure for LLM, ML, and agentic AI workloads.
- Develop and operate orchestration, tool-use, evaluation, guardrail, inference-serving, and AI workflow capabilities.
- Integrate AI into customer-facing product experiences and intelligent financial workflows.
- Ensure production systems meet latency, cost, reliability, scalability, and service-level objectives.
- Participate in on-call operations and incident response.
- Partner with applied scientists, engineers, product managers, analysts, and other teams to bring AI systems into production.
- Set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and improve engineering capability across AI Products.
Requirements
- Track record designing, shipping, and operating production-grade backend systems at scale.
- Experience building and operating production systems for LLM or agentic workloads, including orchestration, tool use, evaluation, guardrails, latency, and cost management.
- Strong system design fundamentals and excellent coding skills in Python or another suitable language such as Go, Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
- Experience with APIs, service design, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability, ideally using AWS.
- Experience running production services, including on-call and incident response.
- Solid SQL skills and experience with large-scale data processing.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to business and technical audiences.
- Ability to coach others, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers.
- Preferred: experience operationalizing ML or LLM workloads, including inference serving and evaluation pipelines.
- Preferred: familiarity with MLflow, PyTorch, TensorFlow, data orchestration tools, Spark, or Dask.
