Responsibilities
- Design and build a configurable policy framework that encodes underwriting judgment for lenders, investors, and loan products without requiring code deployments.
- Author clear, testable underwriting policies, including escalation paths and human-in-the-loop boundaries.
- Establish evaluation datasets, harnesses, and metrics to measure policy quality across messy real-world loan files.
- Maintain the agent runtime, including tool use, orchestration, context management, retries, and guardrails.
- Define engineering patterns, libraries, and review standards for agent and policy development.
- Mentor and recruit engineers and help shape the growing engineering team.
- Develop, ship, observe, and rapidly iterate on production capabilities used by real customers.
Requirements
- Strong engineering and coding proficiency, including effective use of AI-powered coding tools.
- Experience building and operating LLM-based or agentic systems in production.
- Experience designing configuration-driven systems such as rules engines, policy or DSL frameworks, feature-flag platforms, or configuration platforms.
- A rigorous, empirical approach to evaluating systems where correctness is difficult to define.
- Comfort working across Go and Python backend systems and TypeScript frontend systems.
- A track record of leading a technical surface end-to-end, with decisioning, document understanding, or human-in-the-loop product experience as a bonus.
- Product orientation, customer engagement, strong engineering judgment, urgency, ownership, and collaborative leadership.
