Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and efficient software solutions.
- Design and implement Python/PySpark business services, data transformation services, and data flows.
- Develop backend applications that combine data from multiple domains and systems for accounting and reporting.
- Own end-to-end application architecture and implementation of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Perform peer code reviews and maintain application quality, performance, reliability, availability, and maintainability.
- Build automated tests and apply software engineering, Agile Scrum, and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to present designs, align technical decisions, and deliver business functionality.
- Deploy and operate workloads in production and contribute to operations during quarterly closing cycles.
- Communicate with customers and stakeholders and coordinate follow-up activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or another relevant quantitative field, or equivalent qualification.
- 6+ years of experience designing and implementing reliable and scalable software across the full software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, Spark-based data lakes, and analytical frameworks.
- Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Delta Lake, and Terraform.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, modern IDEs, and test-driven development including unit and integration testing.
- Expertise with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
- Strong software engineering, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, quality, and delivery skills.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is advantageous.
