Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate distributed control-plane and observability software for data center and WAN network orchestration.
- Develop algorithms for route computation, congestion management, fault isolation, traffic steering, and recovery.
- Build systems that correlate real-time network and infrastructure signals, identify customer impact, and trigger safe automated responses.
- Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant, secure, and highly available services at OCI scale.
- Drive complex incident analysis and resolution across distributed systems and real-time network state.
- Maintain architecture, implementation, operational, and system-evolution documentation.
- Collaborate with compute, networking, search, storage, Network Engineering, Network Automation and Monitoring, and OCI Resilience and Reliability teams.
- Help shape the direction and execution of a fast-growing early-stage team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in distributed cloud engineering and production software development.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including L2/L3, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and network security.
- Hands-on development experience with Java, Go, or Rust, including service-oriented architectures and secure web services.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, fault tolerance, algorithms, system reliability, and real-time state management.
- Experience applying machine learning or AI frameworks and techniques to operational or network intelligence problems is preferred.
- Demonstrated cross-team collaboration across multiple cloud platform teams.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative engineering environment.
