Responsibilities

  • Define and advance holistic Azure cloud solution architectures for digital services across the 2026–2027 roadmap.
  • Translate business initiatives into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with product management, engineering, operations, and security.
  • Design secure, reliable, and cost-efficient architectures covering compute, networking, storage, data, integration, and AI services.
  • Ensure compliance with architecture standards, reference patterns, governance checkpoints, and enterprise architecture requirements.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, and architecture decision-making across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Develop event-driven and microservices-based solution architectures that support interoperability, reuse, and long-term maintainability.
  • Support implementation teams with solution guidance, architecture artifacts, and documented architecture decisions from concept through delivery.
  • Drive cloud optimization initiatives focused on execution efficiency, service reliability, and total operating cost.
  • Train solution architects and engineering teams and participate in relevant communities and forums.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree in business informatics, industrial engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Extensive professional experience in enterprise solution architecture, software development, or a comparable technical discipline in complex, large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Deep knowledge of the Azure Cloud Platform and infrastructure services, including compute, networking, storage, identity, security, monitoring, and DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of solution architecture frameworks and methods such as arc42, including architecture documentation and reviews.
  • Practical experience with microservices, service-oriented architectures, and event-driven architecture patterns.
  • Strong software development background with Java, .NET, or comparable technology stacks, with the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams.
  • Practical experience with Linux-based environments and cloud operations.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and automation using tools such as ARM, Bicep, Pulumi, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, resilience, and operational excellence in large-scale cloud solutions.
  • Experience with AI/ML and IoT solution contexts is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated enterprise solution architecture experience focused on cloud-native platforms and distributed systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, coach architects and engineers, and communicate effectively with executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated business results in cost optimization, efficiency improvement, and reliability improvement.
  • Fluent English and good German skills.
