
Software Engineer - Android Audio Developer

- Analyze requirements and implement functionality across the Android Automotive domain.
- Develop and own Android Automotive modules and components, including audio framework components, system services, Car Audio services, audio effects, and Audio HAL functionality.
- Deliver software for integration and perform pre-integration testing and verification against defined test strategies.
- Document test results, maintain requirements traceability and feature maturity, and resolve defects and cross-domain dependencies.
- Analyze, root-cause, and fix complex audio issues across the full stack from HMI to Audio BSP.
- Mentor less experienced team members and coordinate task completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience developing automotive audio systems, including at least 3 years modifying Android Audio Framework components, system services, and the Android SDK.
- Expert knowledge of Android Audio Core, including Audio Manager/Service, Audio Effect Framework, Car Audio Manager/Service, and Media Session.
- Strong understanding of AOSP platform architecture, Android Automotive, Car Framework, Android components, Treble Architecture, and Android audio evolution in versions 10, 12, and 14.
- Proficiency in Java or C++ and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with Android Studio, SWUT, SWINT, cts-tradefed, vts-tradefed, GitLab, Gerrit, and Git.
- Familiarity with Google xTS test suites including ATS, CTS, VTS, and PCTS, as well as Android Auto and CarPlay specifications, evolution, and integration.
- QEMU and Bluetooth audio stack experience are nice-to-have qualifications.
