Base Salary
$162k - $233k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead ambiguous projects from stakeholder problem definition through design, review, production deployment, and operational ownership.
- Build and operate Go services supporting contract and pricing configuration, billable event generation, subscription and invoice management, and claims submission.
- Expand assertion and reconciliation systems across Salesforce, Zuora, and clinical data to ensure billing correctness.
- Improve billing and reconciliation data used by health plans, employers, and their clients.
- Design self-service tools that let finance, revenue cycle management, and client operations configure contracts, correct data, and run bulk changes.
- Apply AI where appropriate to improve development workflows and the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in design and code reviews and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend services in Go or another statically typed language.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, including eventual consistency, ordering, idempotency, and system discrepancies.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working across application code and analytics layers.
- Experience owning systems where correctness has consequences outside the company, such as billing, payments, claims, ledgers, or regulated reporting.
- Experience working directly with non-engineering stakeholders to translate finance or operations problems into technical designs and explain tradeoffs.
- Experience with a major cloud platform, specifically GCP at Virta.
- Experience using AI to accelerate development workflows and enhance the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with frontend development using React and TypeScript.
