- Frame and prioritize high-impact AI problems and translate ambiguity into executable plans aligned with product and platform strategy.
- Establish evaluation and quality frameworks covering accuracy, safety, latency, cost, model selection, and fine-tune-versus-prompt decisions.
- Set platform-wide standards for traceability, auditability, reversibility, human-in-the-loop workflows, and confidence signaling.
- Lead the design and delivery of large cross-team initiatives spanning multiple products and services.
- Drive adoption of shared agentic capabilities, frameworks, and patterns while raising engineering and ML maturity.
- Serve as the technical authority for trade-offs involving performance, scalability, cost, and developer experience.
- Mentor senior engineers, collaborate with Product, UX, and Applied AI, and remain hands-on in critical system areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant work on large-scale or platform systems.
- Deep hands-on experience building and operating production AI/ML systems involving LLMs, agents, orchestration, RAG, evaluation, model selection, and fine-tune-versus-prompt trade-offs.
- Expert proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web technologies, with strong architecture skills across distributed systems, APIs, and composable services.
- Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to operate independently in highly ambiguous problem spaces and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
