Base Salary
$120k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, validate, and implement modifications and enhancements to Market Management Systems applications.
- Support, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and escalate MMS applications, interfaces, and on-call issues as part of a 24/7 support team.
- Coordinate application setup and testing with QSEs, LSEs, and REs, and perform periodic MMS model-load testing and real-time model-data updates.
- Design and test MMS interfaces and web and client/server application changes.
- Verify and support applications during site failovers, server, system, and database upgrades, patching, disaster recovery drills, and business continuity procedures.
- Collaborate with database administrators, infrastructure teams, internal departments, and stakeholders on complex application issues and system changes.
- Depending on level, provide training and mentoring, serve as a technical subject matter expert or technical lead, and guide MMS portfolio projects from incubation through go-live.
- Develop tools, processes, and procedures that improve system reliability and organizational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field is required, or equivalent knowledge from a combination of education and experience.
- A master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
- Level 2 requires at least 1 year of job-related experience beyond degree requirements; Level 3 requires 3 years; Senior requires 5 years; and Lead requires 8 years.
- Preferred experience includes Hitachi ABB or another MMS vendor suite, data historians such as OSIsoft PI, FORTRAN, C, C++, Java, Perl, and PL/SQL.
- Must be able to support 24/7 market applications engineering on-call activities and work with regulatory requirements and organizational procedures.
- Senior and Lead levels require increasing independence, complex issue analysis, technical leadership, mentoring, and subject matter expertise.
