Base Salary
$185k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build the bank’s core backend, including transactional persistence schemas, event messaging endpoints, and internal APIs.
- Design secure reconciliation and synchronization between fiat ledgers, reserve accounts, customer balances, and stablecoin mint/burn operations.
- Lead and mentor the Core Backend team and set standards for code reviews, testing, observability, deployment, and architecture.
- Integrate sanctions-screening connectors with auditable screening and case-escalation workflows.
- Partner on multi-region availability, failover, real-time ledger alerting, IAM, key-management interfaces, and threat modeling.
- Prepare architecture documentation and support UAT, feature freezes, external control validation, and regulatory examination readiness.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years hands-on architecting high-integrity transactional systems such as banking cores, payment ledgers, exchanges, or settlement infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, exactly-once processing, idempotency, and large-scale reconciliation.
- Hands-on Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, and multi-region deployment experience in a regulated or audited environment.
- Experience designing immutable transaction logs, reconciliation controls, and automated evidence generation for auditors and examiners.
- Demonstrated success mentoring senior engineers, setting architectural standards, and owning delivery end to end.
- Ability to produce system architecture documentation suitable for intense regulatory and audit scrutiny.
- Experience with stablecoins, digital-asset custody, blockchain settlement, FFIEC IT examinations, or SOC 2 environments is advantageous.
