Responsibilities

  • Own and develop core UAV 3D vision and situational-awareness functionality, including interception detection, collision avoidance, target acquisition, and GNSS-denied visual navigation.
  • Shape and drive the short- to medium-term development roadmap.
  • Develop real-time software in C++ for robotics, simulation, embedded, or related environments.
  • Implement 3D reconstruction, photogrammetry, visual-inertial odometry, camera calibration, sensor synchronization, and GPU-accelerated graphics pipelines.
  • Diagnose and correct sensor time offsets, jitter, dropped frames, and clock synchronization issues in onboard pipelines.
  • Potentially serve as a project Tech Lead, guiding technical direction, coordinating implementation, and ensuring delivery.
  • Integrate, deploy, debug, and flight-test software on UAVs where applicable.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of and experience with modern C++.
  • Experience with real-time software development, such as game, simulation, robotics, or embedded development.
  • Experience with projective geometry, bundle adjustment, PnP, triangulation, feature description, and image matching.
  • Experience building photogrammetry, augmented reality, robotics, or visual or visual-inertial odometry solutions.
  • Experience with 3D Gaussian Splatting or derivatives.
  • Strong understanding of transform trees, pose representations, quaternions, and spatial mathematics used in game engines, computer graphics, and robotics.
  • Hands-on experience calibrating camera intrinsics and extrinsics, including inexpensive cameras and calibration drift in real-world conditions.
  • Experience ensuring timestamp integrity and tight time alignment across sensors.
  • Experience with GPU programming using CUDA or OpenCL and graphics pipelines using Vulkan or OpenGL.
  • Experience with AI coding agents and prompt engineering.
  • High autonomy, determination, and execution ability.
  • UAV software integration experience, familiarity with current 3D vision academic literature, and experience with onboard constraints are advantageous.
  • Full-time availability of 40 hours per week.

Benefits

  • 25 vacation days per year.
  • Reimbursed travel expenses and a company laptop.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Fully remote work is available with regular travel to Delft and flight-testing locations; when working in the Netherlands, employees may work from home two days per week.
  • Opportunity to work with an international team on real-world autonomy, perception, and defence technology.
  • Significant freedom, project ownership, technical responsibility, and opportunities for rapid iteration and international flight testing.
