Responsibilities
- Collaborate across the organization to translate business priorities into shipped features.
- Generate clean, efficient, and well-documented software following industry best practices.
- Independently design and develop high-quality features that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
- Mentor and guide junior software engineers.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for their adoption.
- Contribute to OpenGov’s Engineering culture of innovation.
Requirements
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environment.
- Demonstrated experience in working with customers to improve product experiences.
- Experience working across the stack (frontend + backend) and comfort shipping features end-to-end.
- BA/BS in a computer-science-related discipline or equivalent experience required.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS is required.
- Proficiency in data structures, database concepts, and algorithms is required.
- Proficiency in observability concepts and GraphQL APIs is required.
- Experience in building software using event-driven architecture is highly desirable.
