Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end automated test suites for authentication protocol flows, REST APIs, network policy enforcement, and device onboarding.
- Own test coverage for product domains including RADIUS/EAP, TACACS+, captive portal, and PKI by deriving test plans, implementing cases, triaging failures, and maintaining tests.
- Build and extend test utility libraries for simulated RADIUS/EAPOL clients, browser automation, certificate handling, and REST API access.
- Perform root-cause analysis of test failures, reproduce issues in lab environments, and collaborate with backend engineers to resolve product bugs.
- Review feature specifications and write test plans covering happy paths, boundary conditions, and failure modes before implementation.
- Own and improve Jenkins CI pipelines for nightly end-to-end suites across cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Contribute bounded fixes to platform code, including testability improvements, log clarity, and small bug fixes.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns on test design, debugging, and the team’s test framework.
- Participate in incident post-mortems and customer issue reviews and close test coverage gaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
- 3–6 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a significant portion in test automation or quality engineering rather than manual testing.
- Proficiency in Go or Python for production-grade automation code; Go is strongly preferred.
- Solid Linux administration and debugging skills, including process management, networking tools, and log analysis.
- Working knowledge of enterprise authentication protocols such as 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, PEAP, TEAP, TACACS+, or PKI/certificate management.
- Hands-on experience designing REST API tests, validating responses, and building reliable API clients in code.
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions, including writing pipeline stages, triaging failures, and improving reliability.
- Strong debugging ability and clear written communication for test plans, bug reports, and post-mortem documentation.
- Experience with Docker and basic cloud environments such as GCP or AWS is preferred.
- Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana observability tooling is preferred.
- Exposure to PKI infrastructure, certificate chains, SCEP/EST enrollment, TLS handshake failures, and browser automation frameworks is preferred.
- Familiarity with database testing using PostgreSQL or an equivalent database is preferred.
