Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and systems for Trust and Safety use cases.
Build systems that detect, prevent, and mitigate abuse, fraud, suspicious activity, and other platform risks.
Develop real-time and batch processing capabilities for trust-related signals.
Use large-scale datasets and event streams to build reliable risk detection and decisioning systems.
Design APIs, services, and data pipelines supporting trust, safety, and platform integrity workflows.
Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Security, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Build reliable systems focused on performance, availability, scalability, and data quality.
Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
Develop monitoring, alerting, and operational mechanisms for trust-system reliability.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best-practice initiatives.
Evaluate and adopt technologies that improve the scalability, accuracy, and efficiency of Trust Engineering systems.

Strong programming experience in Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or similar backend languages.
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software engineering fundamentals.
Hands-on experience building backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies is preferred.
Understanding of distributed systems, caching, asynchronous processing, and microservices architecture.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and production troubleshooting.
Understanding of security, privacy, authentication, authorization, or risk systems is a plus.
Exposure to fraud detection, abuse prevention, Trust & Safety, identity, risk management, or security engineering is preferred.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in backend or software engineering, preferably with large-scale consumer or platform systems.
Experience building and operating production-grade distributed systems.
Trust & Safety, Fraud/Risk, Security, Identity, or similar domain experience is a strong plus.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
