Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain code for moderately complex features and projects with multiple dependencies.
- Develop and optimize machine learning models for delivery marketplace efficiency.
- Build and scale foundational infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Own the software lifecycle from design documentation through production debugging and incident management.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Operations to translate ambiguous requirements into system designs.
- Conduct code reviews, create tests, improve system performance, and establish monitoring for production stability.
- Identify and reduce technical debt and contribute to mentoring and engineering culture.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or data engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented or functional programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience applying machine learning, statistics, or optimization techniques to large-scale problems.
- Experience with data modeling, query optimization, and translating customer problems into system designs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience writing functional tests and establishing monitoring systems.
- Preferred experience with high-load distributed systems, technical debt reduction, mentoring, scalable ML solutions using deep learning and statistical methods, and complex engineering trade-offs.

- For San Francisco-based roles, base salary is USD $171,000-$190,000 per year.
