Base Salary
$175k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Orchestrate and instrument a fleet of laboratory robotics.
- Create agentic tools that bridge R&D and laboratory automation.
- Write production-quality Python software integrating physical hardware with a custom LIMS and data pipeline.
- Collaborate with scientists and technicians to develop robust, high-throughput sample-processing workflows.
- Automate, optimize, and scale laboratory procedures using liquid-handling systems and lab robotics.
- Deploy software across multiple field devices and maintain QA, telemetry, and monitoring systems for physical hardware.
- Lead projects independently from idea through production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Biology, or relevant work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience programming in Python.
- At least 3 years of experience with modern web frameworks such as Flask or Django.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience and familiarity with molecular biology protocols.
- At least 1 year of experience automating, optimizing, and scaling laboratory procedures using liquid-handling systems such as Opentrons or Hamilton.
- Experience orchestrating and deploying software to multiple devices in the field, including tools such as Docker or Ansible.
- Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code, including AWS or Terraform.
- Experience building and maintaining QA, telemetry, and monitoring systems for fleets of physical hardware.
- Experience working with Linux servers and simple computer vision such as OpenCV.
- Preferred experience with 3D printing and basic CAD modeling, including Fusion 360.
- Preferred experience with C# and .NET frameworks for scripting automation equipment.
- Interest in biotechnology and DNA sequence analysis is preferred.
