Responsibilities
- Design and implement infrastructure from code.
- Implement configuration management for systems.
- Create production and pre-production environments.
- Manage patching, configuration changes, and rollback plans.
- Automate security controls and compliance validation.
- Deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems.
- Ensure systems availability and scalability.
- Automate operational processes.
- Operate the platform within security and privacy guidelines.
- Manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies.
- Innovate to improve software engineering velocity and infrastructure resiliency.
- Coordinate major upgrades with zero downtime.
- Monitor environments and troubleshoot incidents.
- Participate in security audits and postmortems.
- Support application engineering teams with infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Linux/Unix experience.
- Strong experience with continuous delivery of code.
- Experience implementing highly available SaaS solutions.
- Proficient with configuration management tools like Docker and Ansible.
- Experience with Ruby and Rails.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for application deployments.
- Knowledge of AWS architecture and tools.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with web-based services.
- Knowledge of database technologies like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Strong communication skills.
- Meticulous and cautious approach to work.
- Experience transitioning from monolithic to distributed services.
- Experience with application security.
