Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage operating systems and Azure services.
- Build and maintain custom client machine images and centralized configuration management for repeatable builds and auto-scaling.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and resolve problems and known errors through the problem management process.
- Develop automation and improve processes and ways of working.
- Provide status updates to clients and partners.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota supporting Azure clients.
- Keep current with Azure services and developments.
- Buddy and support new team members.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience supporting customer-focused mission-critical environments.
- At least 4 years of experience engineering, architecting, or supporting Azure solutions.
- Several current Azure Associate- and Professional-level certifications, including relevant primary-skill certification; AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, and AZ-500 are listed.
- Experience with scalable and auto-scaled environments using automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Scripting ability in one or more of Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
- Experience with Git, containerized environments such as ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or Docker, and Jenkins or another CI/CD pipeline technology.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP and beneficial experience working in an ITIL environment.
- A computing-related degree is preferred, or equivalent ability and knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication, independence, self-motivation, client focus, and the ability to implement supportable solutions.
