Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage operating systems and Azure services.
- Build and maintain custom client machine images and centralized configuration management for repeatable builds and auto-scaling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and manage problems and known errors.
- Provide clients and partners with updates on work and issue status.
- Improve automation, processes, and ways of working.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota supporting Azure clients.
- Stay current with Azure services and developments.
- Buddy new team members and implement supportable solutions.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience supporting customer-focused mission-critical environments.
- At least 4 years of experience engineering, architecting, or supporting Azure solutions.
- Several current Azure Associate- and Professional-level certifications.
- Experience with scalable and auto-scaled environments using automation and configuration management tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Scripting ability in one or more of Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Experience supporting containerized environments such as ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Experience with Jenkins or another CI/CD pipeline technology.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP.
- A computing-related degree is preferred, or equivalent ability and knowledge.
- Relevant primary-skill certification, including Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, and AZ-500.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working in an ITIL environment are beneficial.
