Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex, data-intensive software for analytics, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Define technical strategy for cloud adoption, platform transformation, and modernization of legacy systems.
- Lead platform architecture, detailed technical design, integration patterns, non-functional requirements, and implementation planning.
- Design, code, test, debug, and deliver production software across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Build scalable services, APIs, data pipelines, and analytical capabilities using cloud and data technologies.
- Coordinate technical execution across globally distributed teams, dependencies, design decisions, and delivery milestones.
- Drive architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, technical decisions, and engineering tradeoff discussions.
- Improve platform scalability, reliability, developer productivity, operational readiness, and delivery speed through modernization and automation.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design guidance, code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
- Promote engineering excellence, ownership, collaboration, observability, security, resilience, and high-quality delivery.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-performance, and reliable software.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native applications, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with data-intensive applications and analytics platforms; Databricks, Spark, or PySpark experience is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead system architecture, high-level and detailed design, and end-to-end technical delivery.
- Experience driving technology modernization, cloud adoption, platform transformation, and legacy application modernization.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and modern software delivery practices.
- Demonstrated technical leadership as an individual contributor, including influencing architecture decisions and leading cross-team initiatives.
- Ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Experience coordinating technical initiatives across globally distributed teams and multiple time zones.
- Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and ambiguity-navigation skills.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is a plus.
