Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for a major Web Journeys problem area.
- Design, build, and evolve end-to-end mobile web and web-to-app experiences and shared platforms.
- Lead complex cross-team projects from design through launch, including requirements clarification, dependency management, and technical tradeoffs.
- Partner with product, design, and data science teams to identify opportunities, define success metrics, and evaluate improvements through instrumentation and controlled experiments.
- Improve performance, reliability, user experience, testing, monitoring, and safe rollout practices across browsers and devices.
- Build reusable APIs and components that simplify integrations and reduce fragmentation across web and app experiences.
- Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, and raise technical judgment and engineering quality while remaining hands-on.
Requirements
- Experience designing, building, and operating production software systems and owning complex projects from problem definition through delivery.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages and experience developing web applications or backend services.
- Experience with software architecture, API design, testing, and debugging across multiple components or services.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including setting direction, making architectural decisions, and coordinating execution across engineers or teams.
- Experience using data and instrumentation to diagnose issues, evaluate product or system performance, and guide engineering decisions.
- Experience working through ambiguous problems and communicating technical decisions with engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Preferred experience integrating AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact.
- Preferred experience applying security, privacy, accessibility, responsible AI, prompt/context engineering, or agent orchestration practices.
- Preferred experience building large-scale consumer web products, improving acquisition or engagement through experimentation, and working with deep linking, web-to-app navigation, authentication, credential sharing, or shared platforms.
