Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy internal mobile-first web applications for vehicle dispatch, routing, and end-of-shift reporting.
  • Build responsive interfaces for real-time fleet monitoring with sub-second vehicle-state and location tracking.
  • Develop diagnostic tools that translate vehicle telemetry and hardware sensor data for non-technical operations staff.
  • Architect automated ticketing systems for maintenance requests, incident reporting, and vehicle recovery dispatches.
  • Build live dashboards covering fleet health, downtime, and operator efficiency metrics.
  • Optimize SQL and NoSQL database queries for rapid retrieval of historical fleet data.
  • Analyze vehicle performance data and recommend ways to improve fleet utilization and reduce idle time.
  • Gather operator feedback and iterate on the UX/UI of internal tools.
  • Collaborate directly with hardware and software engineering teams to align operational tools with autonomous system capabilities and constraints.
  • Develop optional AI-driven workflows, compliance trackers, and automated operational processes.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant B.S. or M.S. program.
  • Able to commit to a minimum three-month assignment.
  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Able to work on-site at one of the company’s office locations.
  • Must comply with Zoox confidentiality requirements, including restrictions on sharing proprietary information in academic research, theses, publications, or presentations.
