Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain high-reliability systems software for controller-upgrade automation and hardware upgrade infrastructure.
- Automate hardware replacement and upgrade workflows into repeatable self-service processes.
- Develop state machines, health checks, workflow orchestration, validations, failure handling, and automated recovery paths.
- Collaborate with internal services, Pure1 and Skyline cloud teams, and global engineering units.
- Create test strategies, regression coverage, and CI/CD automation across hardware and software combinations.
- Establish operational metrics and telemetry for upgrade execution, intervention, errors, and system behavior.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on development and coding skills in C++ and Python.
- Foundational experience with distributed systems, high availability, storage architectures, hardware lifecycle, or embedded/platform software.
- Experience designing state machines, workflow orchestration, health checks, error handling, and operator guidance for critical systems.
- Exceptional debugging ability across software, hardware, and distributed-service boundaries.
- Experience with automated validation across hardware and software combinations and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a record of cross-functional technical alignment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Santa Clara, California.
- Familiarity with NVMe, iSCSI, PCIe, NUMA, HA failover, array controller replacement, or server/CPU hardware architecture is a plus.
