Base Salary
$109k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own quality for web platform features across UI, APIs, and backend services.
- Design and execute manual test cases, exploratory testing, and regression testing for complex web and API workflows.
- Build and maintain automated test suites and validate frontend-backend integration, data consistency, and error handling.
- Perform API contract testing, schema validation, and negative or edge-case testing.
- Collaborate with engineers during design, implementation, and code reviews to improve testability.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast and reliable feedback.
- Analyze test failures, investigate root causes, and drive defects to resolution.
- Advocate for shift-left testing, risk-based testing, and automation best practices.
- Document and track software defects using tools such as Jira.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of QA or quality engineering experience focused on web platforms and APIs.
- Hands-on experience manually testing complex, consumer-facing web applications.
- Experience building and maintaining API tests with Postman, REST-assured, Supertest, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress.
- Understanding of HTTP, REST, and API design principles.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong debugging, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to use AI to improve workflow speed and quality while critically evaluating AI-assisted work.
- High integrity, ownership, and accountability when handling sensitive data and deliverables.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale web platforms, React or modern frontend frameworks, performance/load/reliability testing, feature flags, experimentation platforms, or observability tools.
