Responsibilities
- Build new capabilities for Archil’s cloud volume storage service.
- Design distributed-systems interactions for atomicity and idempotency.
- Deploy infrastructure and generalize it across different clouds.
- Provide production on-call support and help customers resolve incidents.
- Debug complex failures and production issues across multiple systems.
- Lead teams of engineers through complex technical decisions and pull request feedback.
- Influence the technical and product direction of the company.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems, with flexibility noted by the employer.
- Knowledge of consensus, system scalability, API design pitfalls, system performance, latency, bottlenecks, and throughput.
- Experience debugging failures across multiple systems using metrics and logs, including production incidents and on-call responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of computer systems from the silicon level upward.
- Ability to lead engineering teams through complex decisions and pull request feedback.
- Startup experience is preferred.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and changing customer requirements.
