Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain a Java-based test automation framework using Playwright and REST Assured.
- Establish framework architecture, page object patterns, test data management, reporting, retry logic, coding standards, and reusable utilities.
- Develop UI automation for complex GRP workflows including budget execution, expenditure processing, treasury payments, and revenue collection.
- Develop REST API test suites covering contracts, schemas, authentication, error handling, data integrity, boundary conditions, and transactional flows.
- Integrate smoke, regression, and full test suites into Jenkins CI pipelines and maintain reporting, notifications, pipeline stability, and flaky-test reduction.
- Create automation coverage maps and track coverage, execution time, pass rate, and flakiness metrics.
- Collaborate with QA, developers, functional analysts, DevOps, and services teams to identify automation candidates and testability concerns.
- Mentor QA engineers, review automation code, document onboarding guidance, and promote automation best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience is considered.
- At least 8 years of progressive QA automation experience for enterprise-scale web applications.
- Proven experience designing and building automation frameworks from scratch using Java as the primary automation language.
- Advanced experience with Playwright, REST Assured, Jenkins, Docker, TestNG or JUnit, Maven or Gradle, and Git.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and configuring Jenkins pipelines across development, staging, UAT, and production-like environments.
- Strong SQL skills for test data setup, teardown, and database-result verification, with experience using CSV, JSON, Excel, or database-driven test data.
- Understanding of unit, integration, API, and UI testing layers, contract testing, API schema validation, test isolation, flaky-test management, performance baselines, and load assertions.
- Ability to automate complex JSF-based or form-heavy enterprise applications and test systems backed by MySQL, Oracle, and MSSQL.
- Experience with ERP, GRP, IFMIS, financial management, government, or public-sector systems is advantageous.
- Preferred experience includes Pact, Gatling, k6, JMeter, SVN/Subversion, Testomat.io, AI-assisted test generation tools, microservice or modular architectures, and Playwright Java bindings.
- Experience mentoring engineers, working autonomously on ambiguous problems, managing parallel workstreams, and collaborating across distributed global teams.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
