Responsibilities
- Build software features and services for retrieval-augmented generation, including data ingestion, text segmentation, embedding generation, indexing, and retrieval.
- Implement agent-based workflows involving planning, execution, tool integration, state management, retries, and error recovery.
- Improve reusable templates, software development kits, reference implementations, and developer documentation.
- Support evaluation and monitoring through test sets, evaluation automation, telemetry dashboards, alerts, and deployment-pipeline regression checks.
- Translate requirements into technical tasks and participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing.
- Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and basic production support using logs and metrics.
- Apply secure engineering practices covering data handling, access permissions, and risk-aware deployments.
- Collaborate with engineers and partner teams in an inclusive team environment.
Requirements
- At least two years of software engineering and/or data engineering experience, including internships, cooperative education, or substantial academic projects.
- Production-quality programming experience in Python, Java, or a similar language, including automated tests.
- Experience building or supporting end-to-end services or pipelines such as batch, streaming, or data workflows.
- Familiarity with logging, debugging, operating services, and basic production support.
- Hands-on exposure to generative AI concepts such as retrieval-augmented generation, prompt orchestration, embeddings, retrieval, or evaluation.
- Understanding of data quality, schema changes, backfills, idempotent processing, data governance, and personally identifiable information handling.
- Familiarity with cloud fundamentals, version control, build pipelines, and container basics.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with generative AI orchestration frameworks, tool integration, retries, safety guardrails, evaluation automation, and AWS deployment patterns is preferred.
- Coursework or project experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow is preferred.
