Base Salary

$155k - $400k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale issue-detection features on a product surface processing billions of events daily.
  • Design and operate real-time processing pipelines, monitors, and analysis systems that detect problems and turn them into issues.
  • Own substantial projects end to end, including scoping, technical decisions, delivery, instrumentation, and measurement.
  • Contribute to decisions involving grouping quality, search performance, large-scale migrations and backfills, and experiences for humans and AI agents.
  • Improve product quality and user experience by addressing latency, interfaces, error messages, loading states, and edge cases.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design on technical product decisions.
  • Mentor and help develop other engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of full-stack software engineering experience, ideally with Python and TypeScript.
  • Strong domain-modeling skills and working experience with distributed systems, data stores, and message queues.
  • Understanding of eventual consistency, partitioning strategies, caching layers, query optimization, failure handling, and graceful degradation.
  • Strong full-stack instincts, including knowledge of frontend performance, API design, and user experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or Kafka is preferred.
