Base Salary
$168k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop distributed processing engines and distributed databases.
- Build high-quality backend software using technologies such as Python, MongoDB, CDC, and Kafka.
- Work with big data technologies including Aurora, Trino, Presto, Pinot, Iceberg, and Flink.
- Build custom programming languages within the Rippling Platform.
- Create scalable data platforms, data lakes, and data ingestion systems.
- Design, develop, code, and test software systems, products, improvements, and user-facing experiences.
- Collaborate with software architects and senior developers on advanced development work.
- Contribute to product design and implementation discussions.
- Develop solutions from ideation through production.
- Mentor less-experienced developers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in backend engineering roles.
- Experience writing testable and performant backend code.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience mentoring less-experienced developers.
- Ability to work autonomously and explore creative solutions.
