Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, scalable software and data solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Build and optimize Databricks ETL/ELT pipelines, including performance tuning, partitioning, file sizing, and incremental loads.
- Contribute to all software development lifecycle phases, including design, coding, testing, deployment, documentation, and peer review.
- Develop and optimize SQL and Oracle solutions, including schema design, PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, execution plans, indexes, partitioning, and statistics.
- Model tables using ERwin, including normalization and dimensional modeling.
- Handle JSON and semi-structured data through parsing, flattening, and schema evolution practices.
- Work with Databricks Genie Spaces and ThoughtSpot integration to Databricks.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, operations, and other cross-functional teams while diagnosing root causes across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and participate in sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools responsibly for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Strong data modeling experience with ERwin, normalization, and dimensional modeling.
- Hands-on Databricks data engineering experience, including ETL/ELT pipeline construction and optimization.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including joins, analytical and window functions, and query optimization.
- Strong Oracle experience with DDL, DML, schema design, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
- Experience with JSON and semi-structured data, including parsing, flattening, and schema evolution.
- Experience with Databricks Genie Spaces and ThoughtSpot integration to Databricks.
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows using Bitbucket and/or GitHub and familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA or similar IDEs.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate and refine their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: experience administering Unity Catalog, including catalog and schema design, permissions, lineage, and metadata patterns.
- Preferred: experience in agile or Scrum delivery environments; exposure to Docker or Kubernetes; familiarity with DevOps practices; and knowledge of financial services or regulated-industry technology.
