Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design algorithms for fault-tolerant quantum computers.
- Develop tools to model quantum applications across hardware architectures and determine required quantum resources.
- Develop techniques for application- and architecture-aware quantum circuit compilation and optimization.
- Collaborate with engineers, researchers, architects, and leaders across Microsoft Quantum.
- Drive cross-group collaboration within Microsoft Quantum teams.
- Use AI tools and an AI-first environment to support research, discovery, innovation, and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of software industry experience with a doctorate, 3 years with a master's degree, or 4 years with a bachelor's degree, involving commercial software, compilers, scientific computing applications, or multi-component systems.
- At least 4 years of programming experience in related programming languages.
- At least 4 years of experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Ability to satisfy citizenship or permanent-residency documentation requirements for access to export-controlled information.
- Preferred qualifications include 3 years of software industry experience with a doctorate, 6 years with a master's degree, or 8 years with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City range of USD $160,200–$261,000 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
