Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of a cloud-native backend system using modern Java and Spring technologies.
- Re-architect and migrate a large-scale legacy monolith into scalable microservices.
- Design high-throughput, low-latency services using asynchronous processing and message brokers.
- Build and operate containerized services on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement application observability with metrics, distributed tracing, and contextual logging.
- Secure APIs and services and design and consume RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
- Apply caching strategies to improve performance and reduce database load.
- Use AI-assisted development workflows and integrate generative AI tools into IDEs and code reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience developing server-side Java applications.
- Deep proficiency in Java 21+ and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
- Experience with workflow framework languages or platforms such as TIBCO StreamBase, Spotfire, Flowable, or Camunda with BPMN.
- Expertise in high-throughput and low-latency system design, asynchronous processing, and Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh, and cloud storage or services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Micrometer and OpenTelemetry for observability.
- Experience refactoring or migrating monolithic systems to microservice architectures.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows and generative AI tools in IDEs and code reviews.
- Experience in markets or trading domains is preferred.
- Experience securing services with OAuth2, JWT, TLS, and identity providers.
- Experience with Redis or Caffeine caching.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and gRPC services, including protocol buffers and bidirectional streaming.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and ownership skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Business-fluent English at C1/C2 level.
