Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded telematics software on TCU platforms using Embedded Linux or RTOS.
- Develop vehicle-network interfaces for CAN/CAN-FD, J1939, FMS, ISOBUS/ISO 11783, OEM signal matrices, UDS, and DoIP.
- Integrate 4G/5G modems and GNSS and implement MQTT/HTTPS telemetry pipelines and AWS IoT/Azure IoT device management.
- Build OTA update mechanisms, remote diagnostics, and fleet-management data services.
- Implement eCall/ERA-GLONASS, tachograph and driver-data interfaces, and emissions/usage monitoring reporting.
- Apply automotive cybersecurity and support functional safety activities under applicable standards.
- Own features through requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, vehicle validation, and field issue resolution.
- Collaborate with OEM customers, cloud/backend teams, hardware engineers, and suppliers and support SOP milestones and escalations.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive code quality through reviews, CI/CD, and static analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of embedded software development experience in automotive, telematics, or IoT.
- Strong C/C++ experience, including C++14 or later, plus Python for tooling and test automation.
- Proficiency with Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, bus analyzers, JTAG/Lauterbach debuggers, Git, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on Embedded Linux with Yocto/Buildroot and/or RTOS experience on ARM-based platforms.
- Experience with LTE/5G modems, AT command/RIL integration, GNSS, MQTT, TLS, and REST.
- Experience with OTA update frameworks and secure boot or secure communication concepts.
- Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD, J1939, UDS, and DoIP, plus at least one of ISOBUS, FMS, or Automotive Ethernet/SOME-IP.
- Preferred qualifications include commercial/off-highway and passenger-car telematics delivery, global OEM collaboration, eCall, tachograph, emissions telematics, AUTOSAR, Android Automotive, QNX, automotive safety and cybersecurity standards, V2X, edge analytics, or COVESA VSS.
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE or comparable structured development processes.
