Base Salary
$108k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate highly available AWS infrastructure within the CMS AWS Enclave and connected Pega Cloud for Government environments.
- Architect secure multi-account VPC connectivity using PrivateLink, API Gateway, Direct Connect, and related cloud networking services.
- Define and track SLOs, error budgets, reliability metrics, and availability targets aligned with contract SLAs.
- Build centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability across AWS and Pega environments.
- Lead production incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and environment build-out using Infrastructure as Code and configuration-management tools.
- Design and test disaster recovery, backup, failover, Multi-AZ, and Multi-Region capabilities.
- Support performance testing and capacity planning for up to 20,000 concurrent CSR sessions and peak enrollment volumes.
- Support continuous security monitoring, vulnerability remediation, Zero Trust alignment, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security scanning, and deployment.
- Support AWS data-migration infrastructure using Glue, S3, and RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL between Siebel and the modernized CRM.
- Coordinate provisioning, patching, lifecycle management, release coordination, and change windows with CMS and delivery teams.
- Support integration of Genesys Cloud CX infrastructure and telephony and chat channels with the CRM environment.
- Document architecture, operational runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, requirements traceability, and integration architecture.
- Mentor engineers and communicate technical status, risks, dependencies, and operational needs to CMS and Leidos leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6–8 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience building highly available AWS infrastructure using industry best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and configuration management for cloud resources.
- Experience designing disaster recovery for cloud workloads, including Multi-AZ and Multi-Region resilience.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust.
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator certification.
- Preferred: AWS GovCloud and FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment experience.
- Preferred: Pega Cloud for Government or comparable SaaS connectivity experience, including AWS PrivateLink or VPC peering.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Docker, ECS, EKS, and Lambda architectures.
- Preferred: Experience with Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Preferred: Experience supporting federal contact center or other 24x7 mission-critical government systems.
- Preferred: Agile delivery experience.
