Responsibilities

Own and operate MLB’s edge security platforms including WAF, bot mitigation, and CDN.
Maintain secure environments using infrastructure-as-code and controlled deployment practices.
Continuously refine rules and policies to improve protection.
Participate in an on-call rotation for high-severity edge security incidents.
Design and manage defenses against automated abuse.
Analyze telemetry to identify threats and false positives.
Partner with fraud and payment teams for early detection.
Optimize security controls during high-traffic events.
Serve as a subject matter expert during incidents.
Build and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
Integrate telemetry with SIEM tools for improved detection.
Drive automation for detection and response while maintaining oversight.
Establish strong deployment controls and support compliance.
Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance edge security strategy.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related field.
5+ years in security, platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
Hands-on experience operating and tuning WAF and bot mitigation systems.
Direct experience with HAProxy Enterprise WAF and CDN security.
Strong understanding of HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, TCP/IP, and edge traffic behavior.
Experience investigating web abuse and fraud signals.
Proficiency with Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
Experience with observability, logging, and SIEM integration.
Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
