Responsibilities
- Own the design, architecture, and delivery of high-quality backend features, components, and products.
- Drive platform innovation and develop massively scalable distributed systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders to deliver end-to-end products and align strategies with solutions.
- Conduct functional, design, and code reviews across teams.
- Mentor and coach engineers while providing technical leadership.
- Identify broader product and team implications beyond detailed implementation work.
- Collaborate with managers to improve solution sizing and estimation.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent from a premier institute.
- 7–10 years of design and development experience building massively large-scale distributed internet systems and products.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining large-scale cloud systems.
- Knowledge of architectural styles, design patterns, cloud computing, Big Data technologies, and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent Java programming skills, including multithreading and performance-oriented programming.
- Excellent data structures and algorithms skills.
- Experience with open-source software, frameworks, and server-side Java and Big Data technologies.
- Strong organization, communication, interpersonal, leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in fluid environments and adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
- Ability to use generative AI in problem solving and coding.
- Preferred experience includes data- and insights-driven products, data science, machine learning, large-scale data, Google Cloud Platform, open-source contributions, and data security.
