Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ROS-based real-time control systems for the GRID rebar-tying robot.
- Build embedded C++ software optimized for reliability, performance, and low latency.
- Integrate cameras, lidar, IMUs, and encoders into perception and feedback systems.
- Debug, calibrate, and optimize hardware-software integrations with hardware engineers.
- Implement kinematics, trajectory planning, and control algorithms for robotic motion.
- Develop monitoring, diagnostics, and update infrastructure for production robotic systems operating in construction and outdoor environments.
Requirements
- Require 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong C++ skills, including performance optimization, memory management, and debugging complex systems.
- Python proficiency for scripting, testing, and rapid prototyping.
- Professional experience with sensors, cameras, motors, or embedded systems.
- Strong debugging ability across hardware, firmware, and software.
- Preferred experience with ROS or ROS2.
- Preferred experience shipping robotics products or working on production robotic systems or comparable equipment.
- Preferred embedded development experience.
- Preferred computer vision, sensor fusion, perception, controls, kinematics, or motion planning experience.
- Preferred experience working in fast-paced, early-stage startups.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
