Responsibilities
- Design, implement, enhance, and optimize embedded firmware for industrial electric actuators.
- Troubleshoot firmware issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Apply standard processes for code development, secure coding, reuse, portability, documentation, and bug tracking.
- Lead code reviews to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Translate technical requirements into solutions and manage product requirements, backlogs, and user stories.
- Facilitate sprint planning, track sprint progress, and manage stakeholder communication.
- Lead and mentor a small team of developers and test engineers.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate firmware development projects to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with the Global Engineering Manager and global engineering teams to drive timely project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware design, development, and troubleshooting.
- 2+ years of experience managing small teams.
- Experience with 16/32-bit microcontrollers or microprocessors.
- Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems.
- Experience implementing industrial protocols such as HART, Modbus, Profibus, and FF.
- Experience with low-level firmware for Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI, UART, and displays.
- Experience developing products with cybersecurity aligned to IEC 62443.
- Experience developing firmware based on RTOS.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred: master’s degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with Keil and IAR Embedded Workbench.
- Preferred: familiarity with IEC 61508 and SIL2 firmware development.
- Preferred: familiarity with the European Union Cyber Resilience Act.
- Preferred: experience with Bluetooth, Modbus TCP/IP, and Ethernet/IP.
- Preferred: experience in global engineering environments, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, industrial automation, or control systems.
