Base Salary
$123k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and own software test frameworks for K2’s flight software stack across propulsion, GNC, power, thermal, and communications subsystems.
- Build and maintain automation tooling integrated with deployment pipelines for reliable flight software releases.
- Develop HIL and SIL test infrastructure with flight software engineers.
- Create tooling for test execution, data collection, and anomaly triage.
- Reduce flaky and nondeterministic tests while improving coverage, pipeline reliability, and execution speed.
- Collaborate with flight software, avionics, and systems engineers to define test requirements, write test plans, and execute verification campaigns.
- Analyze test results, characterize failures, and drive resolution across the team.
- Document test infrastructure, procedures, and hardware configurations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks rather than only executing tests created by others.
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins, and with Git version control.
- Preferred experience with HIL testbeds or embedded systems testing.
- Preferred experience testing avionics, spacecraft, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other safety-critical hardware.
- Rust programming experience, including embedded or no_std environments, is preferred.
- Knowledge of RTOS or bare-metal embedded firmware is preferred.
- Familiarity with aerospace communication protocols including RS-422/485, Ethernet, UART, and SpaceWire is preferred.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies is preferred.
- Containerization experience with Docker or Kubernetes, Embedded Linux experience, and shell scripting familiarity are preferred.
- The role requires U.S. person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license under ITAR.
