Responsibilities

  • Build, train, and integrate reinforcement-learning agents into high-performance runtime systems.
  • Enable real-time autonomous decision-making in flight.
  • Implement, improve, and extend Helsing’s multi-agent reinforcement-learning stack.
  • Reimplement and extend state-of-the-art research approaches and contribute to impactful AI projects.
  • Collaborate across teams and backgrounds to integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence into production systems.
  • Develop autonomy capabilities for the CA-1 Europa unmanned combat aerial vehicle as part of the Centaur project.

Requirements

  • MSc in machine learning specializing in reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, automation and control, or robotics.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly report and present research findings internally and externally.
  • Passion for current research and experience reimplementing or extending state-of-the-art deep-learning approaches.
  • Strong software engineering skills and the ability to write clean, well-structured code in Python, Rust, Java, or modern C++.
  • Experience deploying AI software to production, including testing, quality assurance, and monitoring.
  • Preferred: PhD in reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, automation and control, robotics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Publications in top-tier journals or conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or AAMAS.
  • Preferred: Experience with large-scale reinforcement-learning training.
  • Preferred: Experience modeling and training multi-agent controllers using state-of-the-art tools and techniques.
