Responsibilities

  • Ingest and process large amounts of structured customer, product, and event data.
  • Train machine learning models to create probabilistic knowledge graphs for unifying data across systems.
  • Productionize research algorithms for extremely high-scale usage.
  • Build visual experiences and tools that help users understand customer data and insights.
  • Integrate Amperity’s system into customers’ core business operations.
  • Automate management of thousands of virtual machines running data-processing jobs.
  • Guide architecture and technology decisions across teams and serve as a technical backstop for on-call issues.
  • Mentor engineers and share expertise through tools, education, interviewing, onboarding, and special-interest groups.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of industry experience in SaaS and distributed systems environments.
  • Experience with large-scale data-oriented systems on a major cloud provider.
  • Deep technical judgment and ownership of team technology, products, and processes.
  • Ability to guide architectural decisions across teams and evaluate high-level tradeoffs.
  • Experience supporting on-call issues and building scalable infrastructure systems.
  • Interest in using functional languages such as Clojure; Clojure or functional-language experience is not required.
  • Ability to mentor teammates, educate colleagues about technology and products, and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives.
