Responsibilities
- Drive improvements to how RTP Engineering builds, tests, and ships software.
- Architect secure, resilient, and scalable solutions with clear, documented designs.
- Analyze engineering data and failure or inefficiency areas, then develop recommendations.
- Identify technologies that can improve engineering practices and share effective approaches across the enterprise.
- Drive adoption of approved AI tools across RTP Engineering teams.
- Embed engineering standards and governance through adoption efforts, audits, and roadmap actions.
- Support program-wide teams, customers, and initiatives.
- Prepare clear technical communications and executive-level presentations.
- Coach and mentor engineers across cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in software engineering and architecture; Java experience is desired.
- Strong experience in platform engineering, cloud, and CI/CD.
- Experience providing technical leadership and setting direction on complex technical problems.
- Experience using AI in day-to-day engineering, including coding assistants and agents, and driving adoption across teams.
- Experience embedding engineering standards covering design, secure coding, and testing.
- Experience preparing and delivering executive-level presentations to business and technology audiences.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers in a high-performance culture.
- Experience influencing teams without direct authority.
- Knowledge of payments or experience working in a regulated industry.
