Responsibilities
- Assess the end-to-end SDLC and map stages to agent autonomy, agent assistance, or human ownership.
- Design and implement agentic architecture, including orchestration, tool and permission scoping, approval gates, escalation paths, and integrations with CI/CD and code review systems.
- Define guardrails for agent-generated code, security review, cost and usage controls, rollback, auditing, and human sign-off on high-risk changes.
- Select and integrate agent tooling through build-versus-buy decisions across orchestration, coding, testing, and deployment agents.
- Lead a phased rollout with metrics for cycle time, defect rate, agent-error rate, developer trust, and adoption.
- Drive change management by training engineering teams, redefining code-review and QA workflows, and collaborating with security and compliance.
- Report ROI, risk, adoption, and the distinction between autonomous and assisted processes to engineering leadership.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including senior or staff-level architecture ownership.
- Production experience with AI agent frameworks and LLM tool-use patterns.
- Deep knowledge of modern SDLC, DevOps tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience leading a cross-functional technology change initiative beyond a purely technical build.
