Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive product architectures integrating Claude, GitHub Copilot, IDBS ELN, IDBS Biobook, Python, Java, and .NET.
- Translate business and research requirements into scalable technical designs aligned with product roadmaps and enterprise standards.
- Create target-state and interim architectures that support incremental delivery, stability, security, and performance.
- Define integration patterns and data flows between ELN, Biobook, and surrounding systems for reliable, traceable, regulatory-ready records.
- Establish coding, configuration, and deployment standards for Python-, Java-, and .NET-based services.
- Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams on CI/CD pipelines incorporating AI-assisted code-generation tools within organizational guardrails.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews, identify risks and performance bottlenecks, and recommend remediation strategies.
- Document solution architectures, interface contracts, and architectural decision records.
- Embed privacy, data protection, audit, and compliance requirements into architectures handling sensitive data.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities and recommend adoption strategies.
- Mentor engineers on architectural practices, clean code, and responsible use of AI coding assistants.
- Coordinate with product management on technical debt, feature delivery, and long-term architectural evolution.
Requirements
- Nine to eleven years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise applications using Python, Java, and .NET platforms.
- Experience with modular and service-oriented design.
- Practical experience applying machine learning concepts or workflows to automation, analytics, or intelligent decision support.
- Expertise configuring and integrating IDBS ELN and IDBS Biobook in research or laboratory environments.
- Proficiency with Claude and GitHub Copilot, including safe usage patterns, prompt design, and enterprise governance considerations.
- Strong knowledge of version control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, scalable deployments, and secure software engineering practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid work model.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and relevant machine learning or AI engineering credentials.
