Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy Java-based microservices and REST APIs, using Python where appropriate, for SMA trading, data workflows, and client servicing.
- Lead delivery across multiple services and teams by driving execution, managing dependencies and trade-offs, and enforcing architecture and engineering guardrails.
- Build and evolve data pipelines and curated datasets for trading, client reporting, operational insights, and controls while ensuring lineage, quality, access controls, and auditability.
- Drive Snowflake performance, cost controls, secure data sharing, and environment hygiene.
- Own production readiness, observability, resiliency, incident response, SLOs, error budgets, triage, root-cause resolution, and post-incident improvements.
- Embed security, resiliency, controls, testing strategy, release governance, and documentation quality into engineering practices.
- Translate business outcomes into technical delivery plans and provide engineering leadership on scope, sequencing, and delivery risk.
- Promote safe, validated, and secure use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture, with practical experience in platform and system design, application development, performance testing, incident management, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and Python.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant adoption practices.
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Experience with RESTful web services, microservices, API design, testing, performance tuning, and secure coding.
- Strong AWS experience with production-grade services and patterns.
- Strong experience designing and operating Snowflake data solutions, including schema design, performance, secure access, and operationalization.
- Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures and relational concepts.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS certifications, Airflow or equivalent orchestration experience, GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, or Jenkins experience, and financial services or trading knowledge.
