Base Salary
$117k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver well-tested backend features across Kerberos, TOTP, and FIDO2/WebAuthn services using Java, Go, or C#.
- Contribute to design specifications, research spikes, scope definition, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and integrate identity and federation protocols including Kerberos, LDAP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, TOTP, SAML, and OIDC.
- Debug distributed production services, analyze bugs, and resolve issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
- Participate in the Authentication Platform on-call rotation, handle alerts, and contribute to root-cause analyses and incident follow-up.
- Extend platform telemetry, maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and support internal service teams with integration questions.
- Use and critically evaluate AI development tools such as Claude Code for correctness, performance, and security.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong production backend programming ability in Java, Go, or C#.
- Working knowledge of at least one identity or federation protocol, including Kerberos, LDAP, WebAuthn/FIDO2, TOTP, SAML, or OIDC.
- Experience building, deploying, and debugging distributed services in AWS, GCP, or hybrid environments using Kubernetes and modern CI/CD.
- Knowledge of software fundamentals including data structures, testing, code review, source control, CI/CD, and Agile team execution.
- Ability to debug production distributed systems using logs, metrics, and traces and execute independently while escalating design-level decisions.
- Preferred experience includes IAM internals, HSMs, PKI, secure credential storage, PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, high-visibility on-call operations, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- A master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred; a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is acceptable with additional years of experience.
